This landscape architecture project redefines the entrance of a hotel, transforming a transitional parking space into an immersive, sensory experience. Inspired by the elegance of Japanese garden philosophy and interpreted through a modern lens, the design introduces a sculptural water feature as the central element. The feature combines raw, native stone blocks with clean, black metal forms, allowing water to flow and fall in layered sequences. The result is a striking interplay of texture, sound, and movement—bringing depth and vitality to the space.

The water’s gentle cascade adds a dynamic rhythm, softening the built environment and inviting guests into a space that feels both grounded and elevated. Whether arriving by foot or car, visitors are greeted with a visual and auditory expression of calm, reflecting the values of harmony, nature, and refined design.

Surrounding the water feature, the planting palette is carefully curated to reflect the meditative quality of Eastern landscapes while remaining rooted in the local ecology of Sofia. Inspired by the minimalism and symbolism of Japanese gardens, the vegetation incorporates sculptural forms, layered textures, and seasonal interest. At the same time, native species are prioritized to ensure sustainability, resilience, and ease of maintenance.
